Sun-drenched, immaculately groomed slopes and state-of-the-art lift facilities guarantee exhilarating ski fun for everyone – from the littlest tots to the most seasoned experts.

The Region Seefeld has a small yet superb selection of alpine ski areas boasting 37 kilometres of slopes and some 30 cable-cars and lifts. The Bergbahnen Rosshütte, the largest of the ski areas, features the “Rosshütten-Express”, for example – a high-speed 6-seater chairlift with heated seats – which whisks passengers effortlessly up to the sunny slopes at an altitude of over 2,000 metres. The Gschwandtkopf ski area can be reached from Seefeld and Mösern – and offers excellent skiing as well as a delightful view of Seefeld’s landmark, the “Seekirchl” chapel. In Leutasch, skiers can make use of the ski area Hochmoos – Bergbahn Kreithlift Leutasch, while the Geigenbühel and Birkenlift drag tows (Seefeld), the Hinterfeld drag lift (Mösern), the drag lifts in Neuleutasch and the Brandlift in Scharnitz offer ideal conditions for beginners to “find their skiing feet”.

Nestling amidst a breathtakingly beautiful snow-covered landscape are 142 km of cleared and gritted trails.

The pristine natural surroundings make it easy to switch off and unwind, to simply breathe in the fresh, clear air and soak up the magical scenery – and perhaps stop for a refreshment at one of the cosy, rustic little mountain huts. Whether you’re an amateur or an expert, the region offers you many opportunities to indulge in your favourite sport during the winter months too. And, last but not least, the Seefeld high plateau also offers a little paradise for snowshoe devotees  – complete with a breathtaking vista.

As a destination for avid sports enthusiasts, Seefeld is going from strength to strength. It’s not only the ideal terrain and altitude, however, that attract ardent athletes – both amateur and professional - to the Region Seefeld. The excellent infrastructure also plays a major role in choosing to train here.

The Nordic Competence Centre now boasts two brand new ski jumps, state-of-the-art biathlon facilities, 279 km of cross-country skiing trails with snow-making amenities and, during the summer months, a roller ski track – a second-to-none facility in the Alpine region and proof that the Region Seefeld is a force to be reckoned with when it comes to Nordic sports. An ideal location for sporting events, the Nordic Competence Centre with its arena will provide the perfect setting for the Nordic disciplines of the 2012 Youth Olympic Games which are being held in the Olympiaregion Seefeld.
